Cameron Park Description, Pictures, Map & Homes for Sale
Cameron Park is an historic Raleigh subdivision that is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The Cameron Park subdivision began in 1910 on land that was once part of the Duncan Cameron Plantation.
Cameron Park neighborhood was originally dubbed a "streetcar suburb" because streetcars ran along Hillsborough Street and connected downtown to North Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts which later became North Carolina State University. This Raleigh neighborhood was marketed to those who could commute to work via the streetcar
Cameron Park has a variety of homes styles that are reminiscent of the time period and seen in other of the Raleigh historic areas. There are bungalows, Queen Anne/Colonial Revivals, Georgian, Tudor, and Mission Revival, along with homes showing a Spanish influence.
Most of the homes in this downtown Raleigh neighborhood have relatively small yards but the mature trees and landscaping give the home sense of privacy.
Cameron Park homes began being built in 1910. The neighborhood continues to have a unique and historic feel to it.
Other Inside the Beltline subdivisions include Boylan Heights to the Southeast, Hayes Barton to the Northeast, and Historic Oakwood over to East.
