Cameron Village Shopping Center was Raleigh's first shopping center built away from "downtown." It opened in 1949 with three stores and one restaurant. It immediately became the place to shop, eat, and gather.
It was build around the concept of a "village." Today Cameron Village Shopping Center still has its charm and history. It is an open shopping mall with stores divided into blocks. There's parking everywhere so that is never a problem.
Cameron Village has over 100 shops, restaurants, and services. It's very boutiquey. Most of the stores are high end designer clothing, shoes and jewelry - in quirky little shops that are very cool, unique and trend setting. Beanne + Cecil, Uniquities, and Wardrobbe are great.
There are also wonderful gift shops like Accipiter Galleries and Ten Thousand Villages.
If you get hungry, The Village Draft House has super burgers and wonderful on-tap beer selections also The Village Deli and Grill has great specialty sandwiches.
Cameron Village is a Raleigh tradition - for shopping, history, design and food. A true Raleigh shopping staple.
