Chapel Hill Homes Descriptions, Pictures, Map & Homes for Sale
Chapel Hill is one of the three anchor cities of the North Carolina Triangle and is located about 30 - 35 miles northwest of Raleigh.
Chapel Hill is a charming college town and home to the University of North Carolina (UNC) which is the country's oldest public university (established 1789).
Homes in Chapel Hill are, on average, more expensive than any other area of the North Carolina Triangle. People who live in or move to Chapel Hill say it is worth every penny.
Chapel Hill is beautiful. It is one of those towns that has a special aura to it.
There is the young energy of Franklin Street and the UNC students with their ever present UNC Tar Heels adoration. There is also the beautiful historic campus and the homes surrounding it.
UNC Campus is extraordinary and the area around it provides great entertainment and culture venues. UNC Memorial Hall, NC Botanical Garden (which is beautiful all year long!), Morehead Planetarium and Science Center, Ackland Art Museum, and the Forest Theater are just few examples of what you can see and do.
Chapel Hill also has great restaurants with both local and five-star international cuisine. There is shopping in sophisticated malls or the fun little shops on Franklin Street.
UNC Hospitals are also located in Chapel Hill. They provide world-class care and are, along with the University, the top employer in the city.
Chapel Hill rightly calls itself "The Southern Part of Heaven."
Nearby communities include Durham to the Northeast and Cary and Raleigh to the Southeast.
