Raleigh Entertainment Koka Booth Amphitheatre - 919-462-2025
Description, Map, Review & Recommendations
Koka Booth Amphitheatre is our favorite concert venue in the area. It's smaller and more intimate than other Raleigh concert venues. Located in Cary at Regency Park, it's set among acres of woods and on a little lake/pond.
To get to it you walk up a long, paved path covered by trees. It's completely outdoors with very little covered seating.
The stage and lawn are set between pine trees and the pond on the other side. The whole place is surrounded by trees and is really gorgeous.
The Amphitheatre holds about 7000 people, so you're not going to see the really large names play here, but they do pull in very good, reasonably well-known artists.
It's a very pretty place to see a great show. We always do grass seats - there's only a handful of reserved seating anyway. Come early to get a good place on the grass - you may have to dodge a couple of trees - and relax for the performances.
The sound system is superb from anyplace on the grounds. It's not overbearing and has an excellent quality.
Besides concerts, Koka Booth also hosts food and beer/wine festivals, movies on the lawn, and, during the summer the NC Symphony does a concert series here.
Movies by Moonlight are fun and only $3. The screen for the movies is very clear with great sound.
Booth Amphitheatre has a full service menu available at all events.
The food here is pretty good for concert food - sweet potato fries, wraps, grilled sandwiches, some veggies choices along with the normal burgers, dogs, and nachos.
Some events are "picnics allowed" where you can bring your own food & drink. Or, you can call ahead and get food brought in - sweet! Lucky 32 has take-out. They'll pack you a picnic (complete with wine) and you just pick it up on the way in. TADA - easy!
Beer and wine are not as expensive as most of the other venues and they do have some good quality micro-brews.
For a great night under the stars - Koka Booth Amphitheatre is best. Kids 2 and under are free for all events.
Other Raleigh Entertainment venues we like to recommend are Walnut Creek Pavilion , Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts , and Raleigh Convention Center.
