Description, Map, Review & Recommendations

The Raleigh IMAX is just plain good fun. It's located at the Marbles Kids Museum right across from Moore Square.

The Raleigh IMAX has 267 seats, but you really want to sit in the upper section. If you get to close it can make you queasy. (They are used to refunding tickets for queasy tummies).

The IMAX is different than a normal theater and they pack the people in - so don't expect to have that "empty seat" between you and the next person.

It is probably best to get there thirty minutes early for most shows. However if it is a new release or a hot ticket item its best to be there an hour ahead of time.

The Raleigh IMAX is part of the Marbles Kids' Museum, so they usually have good educational shows along with the feature movies.

Most new release films sell out quickly - so buying online ahead of time can be a good idea.

The concessions are not all that great. They have Coke products in bottles but no cups or ice. The popcorn however is freshly popped.

Parking is usually no problem because there are parking garages nearby.

You know you will be wearing those goofy glasses for the 3D films so it is best to just have fun with it. It is an incredible way to see a movie and we have never been disappointed. So enjoy and "live long and prosper." (Mr. Spock)
