Raleigh Home Sellers ~ Curb Your Appeal
Curb appeal is like frosting a cake. It is what makes a buyer want a bite of that cake!
Curb appeal in Raleigh is really critical. We have had Raleigh Buyers that say - "Drive on - we don't even want to see the inside, it just doesn't look nice."
Your first impression is Key - make it work!
Clean It Up and Clean it Out.
Get rid of any trash, trash cans, sprinklers, hoses, toys, etc. from the front of the house. Put yard work stuff away - neatly in the garage or shed. Wash the front of the house - make sure to get rid of spider webs.
Give Everything a Hair Cut.
Mow and edge the lawn. Trim the plants and bushes. If you have flowers make sure you deadhead them every morning. Put fresh mulch around all bushes and trees.
The Door to Success.
The front door can make an important statement. This is the entrance into the buyer's new world. Make it clean and make it beautiful.
Scrub your front door and clean the door handle and kick plate. If your handle is scuffed with age - get a new one. Make sure all spider webs are cleared away. Buyers always look up and around the front door while the agent is opening it.
Get a new welcome mat and put some small plants or flowers by your door. The Raleigh Farmer's Market has wonderful plants - at great prices!
Squeaky Clean Windows.
Make sure your front windows (and all windows) are clean inside and out. Also clean all window sills. Buyers will often stand by windows and look out - or in.
Check for smudges on windows near the front door - clean them every week or whenever you see finger prints or nose prints.
The Clean Sweep.
Give your front yard and driveway a good sweep. Groom your lawn and driveway. Sweep or blow all your edges were yard meets cement. Spray your driveway or walkway down. If your drive or walk has stains on it - rent a power washer and give it a good clean with driveway soap.
Make your home in Raleigh beautiful and appealing from the first glance. You want the buyers to see your home as they get close and say to themselves, "I hope this is the one we are going to see."
