Riverwood Athletic Club is a planned golf community in Clayton set along the Neuse River.
Riverwood has several different neighborhoods to choose from that include both single family homes and townhomes.

Development of Riverwood began in 1996 with home building continuing through 2011. Because of this there is a variety of Riverwood homes styles that add to a true community feel.
That community feel is also brought out by the design of the neighborhood. It has a community center called
"The Village Shops at Riverwood." It has an ice cream shop, a restaurant and other shops and service types of businesses.
For the kids in Riverwood, the Riverwood Elementary and the Riverwood Middle School are located within the neighborhood so it's just a short walk to school.
The amenities are incredible at Riverwood. The Riverwood Athletic Club is really cool. It has an indoor pool and 3 outdoor pools, a 67 feet of water slide, tennis courts, and all the best fitness equipment and classes. There are also playgrounds, walking trails, biking trails, sports leagues.
The Riverwood Community HOA dues cover all of the community amenities plus golf privileges at Riverwood's golf course and the course at the Hedingham in Raleigh.
The Riverwood Golf Club has 27 holes and was ranked as one of North Carolinas "Ten Best New Courses" in 1997 by North Carolina Magazine.
For those looking for Clayton homes, Riverwood has a total community feel and offers a great array of activities for all ages.
The other golf community in Clayton is Neuse Golf Club in Glen Laurel.
