Raleigh Shopping Southpoint Mall
Description, Map, Review & Recommendations
The Streets at Southpoint or Southpoint Mall is a great mall that was featured as one of
the '10 Great Places to Spend It All in One Place' by USA Today.
With Southpoint Mall you get to pick and choose - inside or outside.
The outside has a village-like main street feel with restaurants, shops, and the Southpoint Movie Theater. Some of the bigger outside stores are Barnes & Noble, Pottery Barn, and an Apple Store.
You can choose from a lot of great restaurants - we really enjoy Maggiano's, Firebirds, The Cheesecake Factory, and Rockfish.
Inside there is a pretty good layout with the major anchor stores being Hudson Belk, Macy's, JCPenney, Sears, and Nordstrom.
The store facades inside are designed to be individual with brick and peaked roofs. It's different because it does not have the traditional mall feel.
They often have street performers, which are fun to watch and add to the whole "village" feel.
The architecture of Southpoint is great. There is an aesthetic tribute to the buildings and warehouses in Durham's historic tobacco district.
It is a great place to do serious shopping or just wander and enjoy.
Other Raleigh Shopping Mallc we like include Crabtree Valley Mall, North Hills Raleigh and Cameron Village .
