Southwest Raleigh is located in close proximity to Downtown Raleigh and NC State University. There is a great deal of land that is owned by NC State in this area.

Southwest Raleigh has the delightful Lake Johnson which is a lovely 150+ acre lake with 300+ acres of land surrounding the lake.
Lake Johnson has walking trails and greenways. It's also great for fishing and you can have a fun evening visiting with people and fishing off the bridge.
The Raleigh Farmers Market is also located in Southwest Raleigh. It always is a great way to spend the day.
Along with the fresh vegetables, there are indoor and outdoor specialty shops, restaurants and garden center.
We get most of our garden plants there because you can talk to the experts (my plants need all the help they can get).
