Southwest Raleigh is located close to Downtown Raleigh and NC State University. There is a great deal of land that is owned by NC State in this area. (see map below)

Southwest Raleigh has much more of a rural atmosphere that do other parts of Raleigh.

Homes in Southwest Raleigh generally run from around $100,000 to the high $400,000. There are a few higher priced homes that are beginning to show up in this scenic area of Raleigh.

Southwest Raleigh has the delightful Lake Johnson which is a lovely 150+ acre lake with 300+ acres of land surrounding the lake.

The Raleigh Farmers Market is also located in Southwest Raleigh. It always is a great way to spend the day. We get most of our garden plants there because you can talk to the experts (my plants need all the help they can get).

If you are looking for a bit slower paced, affordable, rural setting - Southwest Raleigh may be just perfect for you.
