University Park is one of the Raleigh Inside the Beltline subdivision that just oozes charm, history, fun, and uniqueness. It's super alive and one of a kind.
University Park's name is connected to its location - just north on NC State University. It's an urban neighborhood with homes connected by a network of green-ways, natural areas, wildlife habitats, and fabulous public and private gardens.
Homes in University Park were built starting way back in the late 1800s but the ones currently being lived in and beautifully renovated were built primarily in the 1920s up through the 1960s. There was a bit of a lull in building in the 1980s but it picked up again in the 1990s and continues through today with new construction that holds tight to the style of the 1920-40s period.
University Park is a very alive and vital Inside the Beltline subdivision. Homes in University Park can be historic, newly renovated, newly built, charming, eclectic, urban chic and just plain cool.
University Park in Raleigh has a conglomeration of very interesting neighborhoods and dollops of history. Oberlin had a Freedmen's village set up by freed slaves in 1869. In the early 1900s the Maiden-Enterprise Area was the site of NC State University staff and faculty homes. A farmer named Hardy Bagwell turned his farm into a housing neighborhood in 1910. In 1924 Wilmont was built on the remnants of an antebellum plantation. When you are enjoying the Raleigh Rose Garden or taking in a play at Raleigh Little Theater - you are in University Park. It goes on and on and the community knows its history.

Driving Directions: From I-440 Take Wade Ave. Continue on Wade Ave. towards downtown. Turn right on to Brooks Avenue and you are int the University Park area.
