Wakefield Plantation is a stellar, 2,200 acre, master planned community in Raleigh, North. It is the largest single residential and commercial development ever built in North Carolina.
Homes in Wakefield come in a wide variety of styles and price ranges. There are executive homes, golf course villas, cluster homes, single-family custom homes and town homes. Prices range from $150,000 to over $4 million.
Wakefield Plantation has wonderful array of things to do. There are biking, hiking and walking trails, along with multiple swimming and tennis facilities. The community includes numerous restaurants, banks, grocery stores, medical facilities, a day care center and a movie theater.
Wakefield Elementary, Wakefield Middle, and Wakefield High School are located within the Wakefield Plantation community.
Wakefield is comprise of an array of interconnecting neighborhoods that have their own style and price range.
Rosemont is an exclusive neighborhood with large homes that start at about $1 million. This neighborhood is set so it is surrounded by the golf course.
Deauville neighborhood has a French country feel to it. Homes in Deauville start around $400,000 and can go up to several million.
Parkside has wonderfully affordable homes that start at the low $200,000s.
Golf Course
The crown jewel in this country club community is the TPC golf course. TPC at Wakefield is a private 18-hole golf course that was designed by Hale Irwin. It is a 7,257 yard par 71 course.
The Wakefield golf course was completed in 2000, and quickly became part of the US Professional Golfers of America (PGA) Tour hosting the annual Rex Hospital Open.
Wakefield Plantation also has a TPC Sports Club. This private club has a 9-hole course, three swimming pools, tennis courts and a playground.
Wakefield Plantation offers a total lifestyle that is unique in the Raleigh Triangle. It is located close to area amenities and Research Triangle Park.
Other Raleigh Golf communities include Eagle Ridge to the south,Wildwood Green, and Brier Creek Country Club over to the southwest.
Driving Directions: From I-540 & Falls of the Neuse Road go north, on Falls of the Neuse Road for 4 miles; turn right onto Wakefield Plantation Drive into Wakefield Plantation. Map
