Raleigh Home Seller Here Kitty, Kitty
If you have pets, make sure your Raleigh Real Estate agent puts a notice on your listing that there are pets in the home. You want to make sure that everyone is aware of your pet. Also ask your Raleigh Realtor to add pet information to showing instructions for your home.
Cats
If you have an indoor cat make sure the cat litter box is cleaned out every day. Work especially vigilantly to rid your Raleigh home of any pet order and pet hair. People looking to buy a home in Raleigh may love cats or they may have cat allergies. You need to be prepared for either.
Most of the time, an indoor cat will hide when buyers come to view your home, but the cat may panic and try to escape. The last thing you want is to have your pet running out the front door and getting lost.
Try to keep your cats in a one room when you expect a Raleigh home buyer to tour your home. Put a sign on the door asking the buyer not to let the cat out. Something like: "Our beloved cat Fluffy is in here. Please shut the door when you leave and enter."
Dogs
When you know Raleigh Home buyers are coming, it is best to take your dogs with you while the home buyers tour your home.
Some people are very afraid of dogs. If your dog barks the buyers may refuse to go in your home. Or, buyers may love dogs and be more focused on your beautiful dog rather than your beautiful home. Either way it is not a good idea to have your dog at home during showings.
If you're working and unable to take the dog out, it is wise to make a plan of what to do with you dog during a Raleigh home showing. Here are some ideas that might work for you:
• Have your Raleigh real estate agent address the "dog at home" situation in the showing instructions by requesting an hour notice for showings. Then you can either come home and get the dog or have a trusted neighbor get your dog out while the showing is going on.
• Have a nice area in the garage for the dog and put a sign on the inside door letting the buyers know there is a dog in the garage.
• Put your dog in a roomy crate during the days there are showings.
• If you have a fenced yard, let your dog play outside during the days there are showings. Put a note on the door so the Raleigh buyers will know there is a dog in the yard.
Hamsters, lizards, snakes, birds and any other little creatures
Make sure they are in their cages, the cages are clean, and everyone will be happy!
